Many may see others in the Spotlight but do not know the journey. It takes time, effort, and consistency to become proficient. It takes commitment and excellence to build a good reputation. ROI is a business acronym for Return On Investment. It means what I am expecting back for contributing my resources to this item/project. A good example of this is the Chinese Bamboo Tree. The seed is planted then watered and cultivated for 5 years with no visible growth. In the fifth year, it shoots up over 80 feet! In the preceding years, it was growing a root system to support the fantastic vertical visible growth. It seemed as if nothing was happening. However, the foundation was being built to hold up under the stress of rapid expansion and elevation.
The bamboo seed is you, your idea, or your product. The investment is your consistent work and effort to develop yourself or your idea into a viable product or service. When the foundation is firmly established and the product is ready, elevation happens rapidly and suddenly. The term overnight success is misunderstood. The foundation and product are built over time and the recognition, or discovery by others is what happens “overnight.” The product and presentation must be carefully crafted to be ready for prime time before it can be successful.
